We know moving into a new property comes with a number of unique responsibilities. We've helped countless tenants make the transition as seamlessly as possible, and we want to do the same for you. We've created these checklists to help answer common questions we hear about the moving process.

We're excited to welcome you into the PurpleBird Property Management fold. Start your tenancy off on the right foot by taking care of these important keys:
First Month's Rent & Security Deposit
Your first month's rent payment and security deposit are both payable at the lease signing. Please confirm the amounts with us in advance to avoid potential problems.
Move-in Date & Inspection
Your move-in date will be set at the lease signing. We will also provide all necessary information about inspections at this time.
Utilities for your rental should be placed in your name as soon as you take occupancy. Please do this as quickly as possible to avoid outages or administrative fees associated with restoring utility access.
Even the best tenancies ultimately come to an end. We're sad to see you go, but we want to help you leave your rental without any issues. Please carefully read through the information below.
Notice of Intent to Vacate
We ask all of our tenants to provide written notice of intent to vacate; if you're ready to move, get in touch with our team to ensure you don't leave any stone unturned.
As a PurpleBird tenant, you are responsible for restoring your property to its original condition before returning the keys. This may involve the following:
- Rental Cleaning: Your property should be returned to "rent-ready" condition before you hand in your keys. In other words, leave your home as you found it. Carefully clean all floors (sweep, vacuum, shampoo), wipe down hard surfaces, and clean out your appliances.
- Landscaping & Outdoor Areas: If you have outdoor space at your rental property, you'll need to take care of normal landscaping tasks once more before moving out.
- Repairs: If any damage occurred during your stay, you'll need to rectify these issues before you leave the property. Replace burnt light bulbs, repair broken glass, and patch and holes left behind by nails or screws. For more significant damage, work with our management team to find an amicable solution.
The security deposit you pay at the beginning of your lease serves as protection against any damage that might occur during your stay. We will return this to you as quickly as possible after you vacate the home.
After you move out, we'll perform one final inspection. If we notice any damage, we will schedule repair visits and use the funds from your deposit to pay for the expenses. The remainder will be returned to you.
Please remember, your security deposit cannot be used to pay your final month's rent.
